  • Rajasthan became 1st State to submit Annual Action Plan under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) on 11th September 2015. AMRUT projects are proposed to be taken up in 13 of 28 AMRUT cities in the State.

Virat Kohli became co-owner of IPTL

  • Virat Kohli became co-owner of International Premier Tennis League (IPTL)’s franchise UAE Royals on 10th September 2015. UAE Royals will be led by Tennis player Roger Federer of Switzerland. The league was established in the year 2013 by Mahesh Bhupathi sponsored by Coca-Cola and Qatar Airways.

Palestine got the approval from United Nations General Assembly

  • Palestine got the approval from United Nations General Assembly on 10th September 2015 to get fly its flag at the Headquarter of UN New York. Earlier, in the year 2012, UN approved the de facto recognition of the sovereign state of Palestine. Almost 119 votes registered in favour the resolution out of 193.

Russia joined the ongoing war in Syria

  • On 09th September 2015, Russia joined the ongoing war in Syria by backing President Bashar al-Assad’s forces as the information disclosed by the sources of Lebanon.

New terminal of Chandigarh Airport inaugurated

  • On 11th September 2015, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new terminal of Chandigarh Airport as operated by Chandigarh International Airport Ltd. Punjab and Haryana will have equal stake in CHIAL. The new terminal costs about Rs.939 Crore. Airports Authority of India has 51% stake in the project while Punjab and Haryana have 24.5% each.

Leander Paes and Martina Hingis won mixed doubles title of US Open

  • Leander Paes of India and Martina Hingis of Switzerland won mixed doubles title of US Open. The couple also won Australian Open and Wimbledon earlier this year.
