Age Limit:
For Sub Officer -> 20 to 24 years as on 1st January 2020 (i.e. the candidate must be born on or before 01.01.2000and after 01.01.1996).
For Constables and Fireman -> 18 to 25 years as on 1st January 2020 (i.e. the candidate must be born on or before 01.01.2002 and after 01.01.1995).
Essential Qualifications:

| Constable of Police (UB) in APRO | Higher Secondary or Class-XII (Matric with 12th) class passed. |
| Constable of Police (Messenger) | HSLC Pass or equivalent qualification with Driving license in Light Motor Vehicle and MMV. |
| Constable of Police (Carpenter) | HSLC Passed or equivalent and passed prescribed ITI course in trade. |
| Sub Officer | Matric with 12th class (Class-XII) Passed or equivalent (Science) having Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM). |
| Fireman | Class-XII passed (Science) |
Selection Process: Physical Standard Test (PST) / Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Written Test Only. All Candidates will have to appear for their PST/PET & Written Test only from the district under which their permanent Residential address falls. However, the written test may be held range wise/ centrally at Guwahati or other place(s) depending on availability of number of candidates or as per convenience of SLPRB.
