1. Adage: लोकोक्ति 

A proverb or short statement expressing a general truth; saying, maxim, axiom
Example: Adages express a general truth.


2. Smugness: आत्मसंतुष्टि 

An excessive feeling of self-satisfaction
Example: I feel bad about my pre-children smugness.

3. Borough: उपनगर 

A town, or a division of a large town
Example: The wealthy merchants typically represented the boroughs and paid much of the taxes.

4. Chasm: गहरा मतभेद 

A profound difference between people, viewpoints, feelings, etc.; breach, gulf, rift
Example: The chasm between rich and poor.

5. Convulsion: खलबली 

A violent social or political upheaval; eruption, turbulence, turmoil, disruption
Example: The convulsions of the stock market.

6. Inimitable: अनोखा 

So good or unusual as to be impossible to copy; unique, distinctive, idiosyncratic, special
Example: He is inimitable in his thinking.

7. Deft: निपुण Neatly 

skilful and quick in one's movements; adept, adroit, agile, nimble
Example: He is a deft musician.

8. Satrap: स्थानीय शासक 

Any subordinate or local ruler
Example: Ancient India had many satraps.

9. Infallible: कभी गलती न करने वाला 

Incapable of making mistakes or being wrong; error-free, unerring, flawless, faultless
Example: Doctors are not infallible.

10. Interlocutor: वार्ताकार 

A person who takes part in a dialogue or conversation
Example: This is why the current engagement between my interlocutors and myself is particularly valuable.

11. Niggle: नुक्ताचीनी करना 

Cause slight but persistent annoyance, discomfort, or anxiety; irritate, annoy, worry, trouble
Example: He was ineffective as he niggled during his work.

12. Subservient: अधीनस्थ 

Serving as a means to an end; supportive, secondary
Example: Everything else is subservient to the studies.

13. Plait: चोटी 

A single length of hair, straw, rope, or other material made up of three or more interlaced strands
Example: She wore her dark hair in plaits.

14. Lop: छाँटना/काटना 

Cut off (a branch, limb, or twig) from the main body of a tree; cut, chop
Example: Lop off a tree.

15. Tenant: किरायेदार 

A person who occupies land or property rented from a landlord
Example: I have to collect the rent from my tenant.

16. Accost: संबोधन करना 

Approach and address (someone) boldly or aggressively; speak to, hail
Example: I was accosted on the road by a complete stranger.

17. Knuckle: उँगली की गाँठ 

A part of a finger at a joint where the bone is near the surface, especially where the finger joins the hand
Example: I knocked the door with my knuckles.

18. Perplex: व्याकुल करना

Make (someone) feel completely baffled; puzzle, mystify, bemuse, bewilder
Example: I was perplexed by his rude behaviour.

19. Superannuation: सेवा निवृत्ति 

The pension paid to a retired employee who has contributed to a superannuation fund
Example: Had he agreed to resign, he would have been entitled to his superannuation for 29 years' service.

20. Huff: क्रुद्ध हो जाना 

A fit of petty annoyance; bad mood
Example: She walked off in a huff.
