Sheikh Hasina won United Nations Champions of the Earth Award

  • Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of Bangladesh, won UN Award for Leadership on Climate Change on 15th September 2015 as announced by UN Environment Programme (UNEP). Bangladesh became 1st developing country to have a climate change strategy and action plan and also to set up its own Climate Change Trust Fund.

Gujarat tops in ease of doing business in India

  • According to the report of World Bank, Gujarat tops in ease of doing business in India. Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Jharkhand topped the list respectively.

New Tourism Policy 2015-20 started

  • New Tourism Policy 2015-20 started by the State Government of Andhra Pradesh with the aim to boost the tourism sector in the State as inaugurated by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

RBI signed an agreement with NRB

  • Reserve Bank of India signed an agreement with Nepal Rastra Bank for supervisory information exchange on 15th September 2015. Executive Director of Nepal Rastra Bank Narayan Prasad Paudel attended the inaugural ceremony.

  • On 11th September 2015, resolution proclaiming 9 December as International Genocide Commemoration Day adopted by United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

  • First every country special cell at Pentagon established to boos the US defence ties with India. The cell called as ‘India Rapid Reaction Cell’.

Solar power generation facility made mandatory by Tamil Nadu

  • On 16th September 2015 the State of Tamil Nadu made mandatory for all high rise buildings to have solar power generation facility in the State.
